Training Design & Development
Outcomes-focused design is essential for successful learning transfer and behavioral change. When I work with you on designing a training, I start with your end goal in mind.

-
What do you hope folks will be able to know and to do as a result of training?
-
What does your ideal state look like to you? In your vision, what are people saying and doing differently than they are right now?
Through a three-phase process, I work with you to design the training that fits your goals, format of choice, timing, and budget.
Planning Phase
-
Initial Needs Assessment & Scoping Session - We’ll explore your current pain points and what your ideal future looks like. We’ll also get into the details of the service, including the logistics of making it happen.
-
Proposal - Based on the needs assessment and scoping session, I’ll develop an outline of what I plan to do and give you a cost estimate for the service based on the scope of the project.
-
Contracting - Once we get a proposal agreed upon, I’ll draw up a design and development service contract for your review and signature.
Design Phase
-
Education Plan - I’ll spell out for you the desired outcomes for the training, key knowledge and skills participants can expect to gain, and how I’ll assess their performance to make sure outcomes are met.
-
Course Mapping - Especially if its an asynchronous/online or hybrid format you need, I’ll essentially storyboard how the training will flow and what resources will be used along the way.
-
Assessments - Whether its a hands on project, or a multiple choice exam, or a piece of self-reflection, I’ll create different ways to demonstrate to you that your participants are getting what I promised out of training.
-
Lesson Plans - If this project is meant to be a train-the-trainer delivery, I’ll provide step-by-step instructions on how another facilitator can reproduce what I’ve created with their own audience.
-
Materials - Any components used to enhance learning - whether it’s a game, a 1-page takeaway, or a participant guide - I’ll create it and include it for you.
Delivery Phase
-
Content Review Meeting - Before I hand things off to you, I’ll go over everything included in the design package to familiarize you with what you’re getting.
-
Access to Content - Once we’ve reviewed everything, I’ll provide you with access to your design package.

Meeting & Workshop Facilitation
Guided Conversation - That’s my facilitation style. I like to be organized and have a basic structure in place, so I can focus on the people involved and capitalize on learning opportunities as they come up. I seek out the perspectives of all voices in the room and give participants the space to apply skills and teach one another. I tell relevant stories, but I limit myself, so learners speak more than me and bring their own experiences forward.
I work in partnership with you to make sure you have a meaningful and productive experience.
Process
-
Initial Needs Assessment & Scoping Session - We’ll review what you have in place in terms of desired outcomes, content, the target audience, format, logistics, evaluation and measurement, and where I may be able to put my own spin on things to help you maximize value.
-
Proposal - Based on the needs assessment and scoping session, I’ll develop an outline of my planned additions, and give you a cost estimate for preparation, delivery, and follow up time.
-
Contracting - Once we get a proposal agreed upon, I’ll draw up a facilitation service contract for your review and signature.
-
Session Preparation - I’ll review provided materials and prepare to work with your group.
-
Session Facilitation - I’ll facilitate a high quality experience for your group.
-
After Action Review - We’ll talk about my facilitation performance and discuss what went well, what could be changed for the future, and where we go from here.

Coaching
My coaching approach is systems-oriented. I believe that coaching you as an individual can be valuable to you, but coaching you as part of the system(s) to which you belong (partnership, work team, organization) can be even more powerful. I use CRR Global’s Organization and Relationship Systems Coaching (ORSC™) approach and tools to help you navigate those relationships together more effectively.
Whether you need to navigate a conflict, bridge gaps among team members, define vision or roles, decide whether to move forward with a new idea or project, or reconcile varying perspectives, this particular style of coaching can help.
ORSC™ work is based on five principles:
-
Each system in unique.
-
Every voice in a system is valuable.
-
Systems are a source of knowledge, creativity, and solutions.
-
Systems rely on specific roles being filled to function.
-
Systems are dynamic and constantly experiencing change.
As a coaching client, you’ll experience the transformation that can come from an approach that incorporates these principles.
